Angela Sawyer

Yoga became a part of my life during a particularly stressful time in my legal career. My previous tastes of yoga left me frustrated and discouraged with my decidedly non-typical yoga body. When I dedicated myself to studying yoga for balance and flexibility, I became stronger physically (and mentally) than I ever had from any of my other athletic endeavors! I have been teaching yoga now since 2019 when I completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training at Devoted Yogi on Bainbridge Island, WA. My students include small groups, corporate clients and athletes. My personal yoga philosophy is yoga is for everyBODY. My classes are accessible to all levels and focus on strength building and exploring space in your body.  I love to offer a hot and sweaty full body experience with a playlist that inspires movement. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, running, aerial sports, arts and crafts and spending time with my family and pets.

Danielle Delong

Born and raised in Kitsap, wife to a fellow yogi, and mother to three. I began practicing Bikram years ago and started teaching not long after. My journey into yoga has taken many paths. Teaching for nearly 10 years, yoga has morphed from hobby, to therapy, to a passion, to a lifestyle. As I share my experience with others as an instructor, I can only describe yoga and mindful movement as a “necessity” in my life today.   My classes are filled with challenging postures, powerful transitions, and long holds that will help you discover what you are really capable of (spoiler alert: it’s more than you might think.)

Janine Ragucci

Born & Raised from NYC, Janine, is a Licensed Massage Therapist & Yoga Teacher. During her time in NYC, Janine discovered Yoga as a baseline practice in the early 90's to help find balance during her time working as an Executive Assistant in Corporate America on Wall Street for 13 years.  Janine soon decided to take a leap and leave Corporate to become a Healer and Bodyworker and eventually obtaining her Yoga Certification.  Through her experiences, Janine landed in Seattle, WA in 2007 and since then her skill-set, ranges from many traditional & unique techniques in the massage realm and utilizing her knowledge of Anatomy & Physiology, to connecting the movement of the body through Yoga.  Helping students build & maintain strength in our ever evolving bodies.  Like in our everyday lives, it’s easy to overlook the daily wear & tear that our own bodies accumulate through stress and activity. Just like your Automobile, your physical “vehicle” requires the same care and regular maintenance.Janine is an outgoing and down to earth ‘gal and works with everyone in obtaining the best outcome for their yoga practice, creating a sense of comfort and relaxation while continuing to follow through with aiding a simple flow through her Yoga practice.  She has integrity in her work and it shows.   Janine looks forward to meeting and working with you!

Yoga has been a part of my life for over 5 years and my practice has helped me stay mindful and grateful of the body and life I have been blessed with. I first turned to yoga after an injury and it was the only thing that helped me, both mentally and physically.

I completed my 200 hour traditional Vinyasa training with Maui Yoga Shala and continue learning through the online yoga community. I will always be a student of the practice and am grateful for the knowledge and wisdom my teachers have shared with me.

In my classes, I like to start slow with meditation and breath work. I specialize in Vinyasa flow focusing on alignment and building strength. I strive to help others by nurturing body, mind and soul with yoga and my hope is that you leave feeling strong, peaceful and balanced.

Julia Levengood

Julia found yoga as a young adult & has been practicing with the Kitsap community since 2015.

She trained in Boulder, CO with Bodhi Yoga Academy, studying under Sam Vetrano, Irene Pappas & Victoria Renfro.

In her classes, she hopes to inspire you to cultivate both self-awareness & surrender through practicing presence, self-observation, and self-acceptance; intentionally strengthening connection to self and opening the channels for free-flowing energy throughout the body. Come as you are, leave feeling lighter.

Julia O’Connell

Originally from this small town of Poulsbo. Completed my degree in Community Health Education at WWU. I worked for a few years in the field. After the birth of our third daughter, I started practicing in a hot yoga studio and was instantly hooked to the physical practice of yoga. But, I also fell in love with how much more yoga had to offer. 2 Years later, I completed my 200 RYT and began teaching yoga; followed by Barre, Sculpt, Pilates and TRX and have loved every second of it. Although, I teach many different styes of classes, I am most passionate about power Vinyasa classes. I always offer modifications, but also LOVE to allow lots of opportunities to get inverted and play with a new arm balance and fun transitions creating possibility for students to grow their practice on their mat and take that confidence off the mat.

After moving back to Poulsbo in 2018, I began teaching at Kitsap Hot Yoga. KHY is a space for the community to grow together, becoming a stronger and better version individually. Thankful to be a part of this little gem, Kitsap Hot Yoga, and the community space for supported growth and healing through life’s ups and downs.

Melissa Rose

I discovered the practice of Yoga in 2017 after a back and shoulder injury had left me with mobility limitations. I fell in love with how the practice made me feel and could not deny how well I slept after attending a yoga class. As my practice grew, so did my desire to learn more about Yoga and share that with others. I completed my 200hr training in a breath-based style of Hatha Yoga at Akasha Yoga Academy in the Spring of 2022. I bring with me a deep reverence for the ancient tradition of Yoga as well as a fresh perspective and enthusiasm for modern day practice. My classes are structured to target and challenge not only the physical but the also the mental, emotional, energetic, and spiritual realms in each of us. My goal is to help facilitate the creation of a safe space for students to connect with themselves and to deepen their practice. I believe Yoga should be accessible to people of all ages and have a passion for sharing the practice of Yoga with my community. When I am not teaching yoga I am spending time with my son, family and friends, being outdoors, enjoying the beautiful Pacific Northwest, and working as a registered nurse. See you on the mat.

Michelle Golden-Rabelos

My journey with yoga started in my early 20’s, I fell in love immediately. I practiced regularly all the way through my first pregnancy and then life happened. In early 2018, a friend asked if I wanted to try a hot yoga sculpt class, I haven’t stopped since. Returning to a regular practice has been one of the most positive, grounding experiences. I look forward to pushing myself physically and mentally. Coming to class is a great way for me to disconnect from my very busy life and take a much needed moment for myself. My favorites are a hot vinyasa flow, barre, HIIT, and of course my all time favorite hot yoga sculpt. The feeling after conquering a class is so gratifying. It reminds me to be grateful for my health (physically and mentally) and for the strength of my body. The community at KHY is such a beautiful thing to be part of, anything I can do to introduce others to it makes my heart and soul happy. I look forward to seeing you on the mat sweating with some weights and taking a moment for yourself!

Nicole Lobuzzetta

Nicole was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, where she started practicing yoga over 20 years ago as a supplement to her dance training. Yoga became an essential part of her life as a professional dancer; in it she discovered a time to stop pushing, criticizing and judging, and instead cultivate love and appreciation for the transformative power of movement.  After becoming a mom, her relationship to yoga deepened as she continued to find new layers of healing through its practice.

With a degree in Modern Dance, a certification from OmCulture's 200-hour teacher training program, and many years of experience teaching both yoga and dance, Nicole has developed a deep respect and understanding of anatomy, the subtle/energetic body, breathwork and yogic philosophy. Her vinyasa-style classes blend creative flow sequences with moments of meditation and contemplation to find connection, appreciation and honesty, ultimately bringing more grace into our lives on and off the mat.

Shayla Kowaleski

I began my yoga journey in 2014 after booking a last-minute package tour of Nepal. While there, I found myself inadvertently experiencing the vitalizing and detoxifying effects of hot yoga after an unplanned power outage during my introductory class. Once I returned home, I immediately joined my local Hot Yoga studio where I fell in love with the balancing practice of yin.
During the 2020 lockdowns, I was inspired to make the 200-hour RYT through YogaRenew online training my “Pandemic Project”. I have not looked back since.
I am most passionate about the practice of yin for its ability to harmonize body and mind. I have found so much joy guiding others in this practice while sharing the nourishment that it brings to one’s life. My hope is to navigate students into a state of physical opening and pure mental relaxation through the deep yin poses.

Sydney Salazar

When I first started taking yoga classes I had no idea how much benefit would come from what I thought was a physical "exercise". And boy, was I surprised. I remember at my 3rd or so class feeling the need to cry. I asked the instructor later if that was a normal reaction and she told me that yes, it can be. I had never sat quietly, with myself, in a state of presence in my body before that time. That was in 2015. From then on I knew that I had so much to learn about incorporating yoga into my life. I have found through the years a slow and steady pace on my journey of understanding how yoga is so much bigger than the postures, and it has become a part of who I am. The studio is where I go to meet up with ME.

I trained in 2020 for my teaching certificate with Ashley Hagen at Ashes Yoga in downtown Poulsbo. It was local and accessible to me as a mom of two. I am forever grateful for the education I received from an incredible mentor. I have been a lifelong resident in North Kitsap and I enjoy meeting old friends and new faces at the studio. See you there
